Tiles, small stone and wall panels
Not every surface needs ripping out and retiling. A kitchen splashback, a skirting strip or a balcony corner can be refreshed with brick-slip tiles, patterned cement tiles, thin stone or PVC and foam wall panels. Foam and PVC panels are quick and cheap, good for rentals, but do not belong near a hob. Real tiles last longer and need tile adhesive or mortar plus grout. Order about ten percent extra for cuts and breakages, from the same batch so the colour matches. For large tile orders, ask a materials supplier for a volume quote.
